As a member of Be Number 1, as well as giving financial support to a British athlete, you can show the world what a great sportsperson you are via your own B#1 Sports Page.

Each member is given a page on the Be Number 1 web site where you can show your own sporting highlights in the shape of blogs, photo galleries and video clips.

We’d like this to be very much sports, health and fitness orientated, so perhaps a bit different from other places on the internet where you can post. The most interesting Sports Page each month will be featured on the Be Number 1 Home page – so pick an athlete, sign up and get posting.

The 2008 Olympics certainly seem like a long time ago! I was really pleased with my results out there (maybe a little gutted when I think how close it all was), but I can only look forward. The atmosphere out in Beijing was amazing. The village was awesome, apartments all really nice and Team GB had kitted them out to make us feel at home. I shared a flat with the rest of my team and I was lucky enough to get my own room. Even though we finished competing earlier than the end of the Olympics, we were allowed to stay out to attend the closing ceremony, which was a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to see the sites of China. I went to the Great Wall and the views were fantastic. But it was very busy and really hot, so I didn’t last too long up there.

The main question which has been asked of me since I got back from Beijing is: \'Am I going to carry on until 2012?\' and, to be honest, I haven\'t a clue what I am going to do. I am definitely intending on staying until the World Championships in London next year, but I am going to take it one day at a time.

I went under the knife a few weeks ago to clear up a niggling shoulder injury and so I’ll be pretty much recuperating from that until January to let it heal. And then I can really begin to focus on the World Championships.

Oh, and I was also interviewed on the breakfast programme on BBC Radio Stoke to talk about Be Number 1, which seemed to go pretty well. All part of the service!

Take care and have a great Christmas.

Beth
