As a member of Be Number 1, as well as giving financial support to a British athlete, you can show the world what a great sportsperson you are via your own B#1 Sports Page.

Each member is given a page on the Be Number 1 web site where you can show your own sporting highlights in the shape of blogs, photo galleries and video clips.

We’d like this to be very much sports, health and fitness orientated, so perhaps a bit different from other places on the internet where you can post. The most interesting Sports Page each month will be featured on the Be Number 1 Home page – so pick an athlete, sign up and get posting.

Subject : Long recuperation
Date : 10.12 08

It has been a frustrating time for me after I ruptured my calf muscle back in the summer and thereby missed out on the opportunity to compete in the modern pentathlon at the Beijing Olympics, four years after winning bronze in Athens. I had enough injury and illness problems in the three and a half years after Athens, but this has definitely been the worst injury that I have ever had. I am back running, but it will be a long recuperation before I get back to full fitness. How long it will take is anyone’s guess, but I have access to everything I need to help me in my recovery. I assure you that I will be doing my utmost to get back competing again as soon as possible.

I wish I could bring you more positive tidings as the festive season gets into full swing!

Georgina
